One month prior to your arrival, please complete the CIEP Arrival Information Online Form.
* Please note: Students who arrive late may not be able to begin classes on time. In this session, students will learn how to open UNI e-mail accounts, utilize the My Universe student computer information system, find a job and pay U-Bills.
During this session, one of the CIEP teaching staff members will review the CIEP academic policies and procedures for students enrolled in the program. View the CIEP Student Handbook Review Presentation.
During orientation, new students also have the opportunity to attend a health insurance presentation. During the March and October sessions, this information is presented to students individually. A large group session is offered in August and January. Download the health insurance presentation.
The CIEP Director will review important information about life at UNI and discuss the essential information that CIEP students must have before beginning to study. Students will learn about immigration and employment regulations, tax responsibilities, and living safely in Iowa. American culture and customs will also be discussed.
Each session, new CIEP students participate in a three-day orientation process. This process includes a variety of informational sessions, campus tours, and opportunities to meet other CIEP students and staff. Follow the link below to read more about the sessions and view the presentations. Please note: this orientation is mandatory for all new students.
At the end of each orientation, students will complete the orientation survey.
