Campus Amenities

Students who study in-person are able to enjoy UNI's exciting campus and campus amenities. Visit UNI Campus Life for details about living on campus, or see a few examples here: The Rod Library is a great resource for students and many students enjoy studying in its private study rooms. Mauker Union is a great place to eat a quick lunch between classes or work on projects with friends. The Wellness Recreation Center (WRC) is open for students to use fitness equipment or participate in group fitness programs. The Student Health Center provides on-site medical care to students as needed and offers mental health services such as counseling and wellness coaching. UNI also hosts events year-round including athletics at the UNI-Dome, guest speakers through various departments and programs, performances through the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, and more!

Cedar Valley Community

UNI's campus is located in Cedar Falls, Iowa and near Waterloo, Iowa. The Cedar Valley Community is an excellent place to connect with others, shop, and explore. UNI's campus is found in a safe area of Cedar Falls close to town. Cedar Falls has a variety of scenic trails for walking and biking, in addition to beautiful views of the Iowa sunset. Main Street, a local shopping hub of small businesses, is minutes away from campus by car. Waterloo also has a large amount of stores and attractions to visit. Seasonal farmers markets that sell fresh produce are common in both cities. Iowa experiences all four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. In the Spring, see flowers bloom across UNI's campus. In the Summer, visit local water parks and enjoy warm days. In the Fall, witness the leaves fall from the trees and leave beautiful colors all over campus. In the Winter, see sparkling snow cover campus buildings and trees as the city freezes. The Cedar Valley Community and UNI offer activities for all seasons - from pumpkin carving to skiing.
